About Musicultura

Established in Recanati in 1990, Musicultura is a renowned Italian festival and competition dedicated to nurturing and showcasing original songwriting. Its mission is to provide a serious, civil, and transparent testing ground for artists who perform their own compositions, irrespective of musical genre.

A distinctive feature of the contest is the inclusion of Italian and international music representatives in unique artistic performances during the finals. This fosters an essential intergenerational dialogue, allowing emerging talent to measure and compare their work against the excellence of established tradition.

The Artistic Guarantee Committee

Since its inception, the contest has been overseen by an Artistic Guarantee Committee, composed of authoritative figures from the worlds of music and Italian culture.

  • The Committee’s first members included the poet Giorgio Caproni and the singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André.

  • Today, the Committee, which listens to and evaluates the finalist songs, is composed of prominent figures in Italian culture including singer-songwriters, directors, and writers.
